Dieses Jahr habe ich den Jahreswechsel das erste Mal in einem anderen Land verbracht. Als ich meinen Rückflug nach Granada im Oktober vergangenen Jahres gebucht habe, wusste ich natürlich noch nicht, was mich am 31.12.08 erwartet - und als ich dann am 30.12. im Bus nach Granada saß, wusste ich es immer noch nicht. :-)
Eine Freundin hat mich für ein paar Tage besucht und einige Erasmusstudenten und Freunde aus Granada waren auch bereits wieder in der Stadt. Zu Abend gegessen haben wir in einer lustigen WG zusammen mit Spaniern, Italiern und Deutschen, die ich erst auf der Heimreise im Bus kennengelernt hatte. Um kurz vor zwölf sind wir, jeder mit einem Dutzend "uvas de suerte" (Glücks-Weintrauben) ausgestattet, zum Rathausplatz gegangen. In ganz Spanien ist es Tradition, sich um 00.00 Uhr (vor dem Fernseher oder an öffentlichen Plätzen) zu jedem der erklingenden zwölf Gongschläge eine Weintraube in den Mund zu stopfen und so das neue Jahr zu begrüßen. Am Rathausplatz zwischen den ca. 5000 Granadinern haben wir das als "Neulinge" nicht ganz so gut hinbekommen. Aber selbst die echten Spanier hatten Mühe, den richtigen Zeitpunkt zu erkennen und standen noch mit ihren Weintrauben in der Hand da, als sich andere schon "Feliz Año!!!" wünschend in den Armen lagen. Im Anschluss sind wir natürlich noch bis in die Morgenstunden ins Zentrum feiern gegangen. Das kann man gut in Granada.
Dies ist offiziell Bild N°1 meines Fotoblogs. Vernebelt seht Ihr, aus welcher Perspektive ich den Jahreswechsel erlebt habe. Der Plaza del Carmen war so überfüllt, dass wir von der kleinen Gasse aus der wir kamen, kaum auf den Platz treten konnten. So habe ich die Stadt noch nie gesehen!
Es war ein schönes Erlebnis, "la noche vieja" so international, spontan, chaotisch und herzlich zu verbringen wie dieses Mal in Granada!

This year was the first time I spent new year's eve abroad. When I booked my flight last year in october, I didn't know how I'll spend the 31.12.2008 - and when I was sitting in the bus traveling back to Granada on the 30.12. I still didn't know. :-)
A friend has been visiting me for some days and also some other Erasmus students and friends from Granada were already back in town. We had dinner in a funny flat together with Spanish, Italian an German people, I just got to know on my return to Granada. Close to midnight we went, equipped with dozens of "uvas de suerte" (raisins of fortune), to the townhall at Plaza del Carmen. To welcome the new year, in Spain it's a tradition to meet up in public places or in front of the TV to stuff one raisin with each of the twelve strokes of the bell into the mouth. In front of the town hall between about 5000 Granadiños we had some problems to recognize the right time to start eating the fruits as "beginners". But even some of the Spanish people where still helding their raisins in her hand while others already where hugging and wishing "Feliz Año!!!".
Anyway it has been a great experience to begin the new year that international, chaotic, spontanious and warm like this time in Granada. Later on of course we went to have a party in the centre until dawn. That's easy in Granada.

Hallo Ihr Lieben, nun habe auch ich mich entschieden, einen Blog zu schreiben. Ich habe keine guten Vorsätze für das neue Jahr gefasst, aber ich hoffe für Euch und auch für mich hier kreativ dokumentieren zu können, was ich 2009 erlebe und erfahre. Warum insbesondere für das Jahr 2009? Ich habe vor, diesen Blog als Fotoblog zu führen - 365 Fotos in 356 Tagen! Seit Weihnachten bin ich dank meiner Familie stolze Besitzerin einer Nikon D60 SLR-Digitalkamera, deren Fotos hier u.a. zum Einsatz kommen sollen. Wie einige vielleicht wissen, habe ich es mit dem Zeitmanagement nicht immer so gut drauf, weswegen ich mit den ersten Tagen des Jahres ein wenig schummeln muss. ;-) Ich bin selbst gespannt, wie sich mein Blog entwickelt und wünsche Euch viel Spaß beim lesen und betrachten! now I finally decided to write a blog. I don't have any good intentions for the new year, I just hope I can document, for you as well as for me, what I experience during the next year.
Why especially for 2009? I'm going to write my blog as a fotoblog - 365 pictures in 365 days! Since christmas I'm the proud owner of a Nikon D60 SLR camera thanks to my family. Amongst others I'll use its pictures for my blog.
As some of you might know, time management isn't always one of my forces, that's why I have to cheat a bit with the dates of the first pictures. ;-) Even I am curious how my blog will develope, so enjoy reading and regarding it!
